The Author of the reference series Taxation Laws of Indonesia, Sikuan Sutanto received his education at the prestigious Rijksbelasting Academie (Taxation Academy) in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and has held various senior positions throughout his long and illustrious career at the Directorate General of Taxation, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia from 1955 to 1987.

Drs. Sikuan Sutanto was the principal negotiator of the first 22 Indonesian Tax Treaties, among others the treaties with the US, Japan and ASEAN countries. He was also the negotiator of the tax aspects of various contractual agreements, i.e. the P.T. International Nickel Indonesia Contract of Work and the P.T. Inalum agreement.

Presently he is the Managing Director of Darma Utama Advisory Services Pte. Ltd., Singapore. The principal activities of this company include rendering consultancy services on the subject of Indonesian taxation and investment and the periodic publication of the Indonesian tax laws and regulations.

Drs. Sutanto's extensive experience with the tax laws of Indonesia have rightly earned him the reputation as a leading authority on Indonesian taxation and hence qualifies him to be the Author and manager of this internet publication.
